Whether you are buying your very first luxury timepiece or adding a crown jewel to your already extensive collection, Bezel has both the rarified selection and the concierge services to help you secure the best wristwatch for you. Our carefully curated collection of pre-owned IWC watches combine aesthetically pleasing design with exceptional performance standards to honor the motto it adopted in 1903. Translated from Latin, IWC’s “Probus Scafusia” seal promises “good, solid craftsmanship” from every IWC watch.

The Legacy of the IWC Brand

Established as the International Watch Company in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, today’s IWC Schaffhausen (or simply “IWC”) is internationally renowned among watch aficionados as a leading maker of both dress and sports watches. IWC has a long tradition of completing every step of the development and manufacturing processes in-house, from initial engineering processes to movement apparatus construction to final case assembly.

IWC’s History of Quality

Unsurprisingly, the one-of-a-kind IWC brand has a rather unique origin story. IWC’s founder, Florentine Aristo Jones, was a Boston-based engineer and watchmaker who settled in Schaffhausen, where he established IWC with a group of Swiss industrialists and investors. The result was a watchmaker that benefited from the best of Swiss craftsmanship as well as modern American production methods. To generate energy for factory production, Jones’ business partner Johann Heinrich Moser invented a hydroelectric system that harnessed the flowing waters of the Rhine River. Shortly after going into business in 1868, IWC began pushing the luxury timepiece market forward with innovative products such as pocket watches with the advanced Pellaton winding system and the very first wristwatches with digital displays. In the wake of Charles Lindbergh's transatlantic flight in his "Spirit of St. Louis," watchmakers clamored to develop products capable of helping pilots take crucial time measurements in the air. IWC’s contributions to this effort helped it establish a watch dynasty in the mid-1930s. With a durable rotating bezel, magnetic field protection, and a striking black dial with highly legible Arabic numerals under a set of incandescent hands, the early IWC pilot watches evolved into the British Royal Air Force-endorsed Mark XI and then the 46-millimeter Big Pilot. IWC also has watches that are dedicated to famous French pilot and writer Antoine de Saint Exupery, as well as the "Top Gun" US Navy Fighter Weapons School in Fallon, Nevada.

Key Features of IWC Watches

Driven by American entrepreneurial vision and Swiss watchmaking expertise, IWC watches have become a favorite of collectors around the world. Driven by a commitment to meticulous engineering and innovative technology, IWC has pioneered a number of unique features and enhancements, including chronographs, tourbillons, and perpetual calendars. Despite the sophisticated nature of their complications, IWC watches are quite easy to use. In terms of resilience and aesthetics, IWC uses exceptional raw materials such as stainless steel, sapphire crystal, and various precious metals to manufacture its watches. It also stresses the importance of quality finishing that simultaneously boosts durability and enhances appearance.

The Ingenieur range now marries classic and contemporary, embodying IWC's innovative spirit.
